drone fly, I think I saw the rat-tailed maggots from its larvae stage but I can't find a photo

I love buying bulbs from Sainsbury's - so convenient to pick them up while shopping. I used to live quite close to a large Sainsbury's so could buy 1 pack each visit. Sadly my closest Sainsbury's is further away but I still get there occassionally. It used to be "garden by Sainsbury's" branded, now it's Grow and Bloom so I am interested to see how they perform.

a few that I bought
Sainsbury's Grow and Bloom Purple Ranunculus

Sainsbury's Grow and Bloom Anemone de Caen

Sainsbury's Grow and Bloom Mixed Large Alliums

Sainsbury's Grow and Bloom Mixed Minature Narcissi

Sainsbury's Grow and Bloom Mixed Hyacinths, which I'll use for forcing in vases

another Sainsbury's had garden by Sainsbury's daffodils

perennial sowthistle: bees covered with pollen in the perennial sowthistle (Sonchus arvensis) flowers - magic (and no one has cut them down!)

my amaryllis bulbs started growing earlier in the summer and thought they might bloom, as one did last summer but no sign of buds so brought them inside in case they do bloom

two cats in the garden, neither are mine! but in my garden, all wildlife is welcome, especially cats and foxes

sulphur cosmos

ivy, the first buds I've seen on this ivy (lots of flowers produced on other ivy at the back of the garden) at the side so really happy it's reached the flowering stage

pickerelweed, finally blooming in September
